The publication provides an overview of the Belgian legal framework for the enforcement of investment treaty arbitration awards rendered under the ICSID Convention. It considers whether Belgium has implemented specific laws and procedures addressing the enforcement of ICSID awards and examines the grounds on which enforcement may be refused or stayed.

The note also discusses the approach to state immunity in Belgium and the available methods of execution.
